Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a popular adventurous sport in Singapore that attracts both the locals and the foreign tourists. Rock climbing is a sport in which participants climb up or across natural rock formations or man-made rock walls. The goal is to reach the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a pre-defined route. Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber's strength, endurance, agility, and balance along with his or her mental control. It requires climbers having proper climbing techniques and usage of specialized climbing equipment is crucial for the safe completion of routes. Many people think mistakenly that Rock Climbing is as dangerous as mountaineering. But the risks involved are actually minimal as a safety rope is attached to the Rock Climber at all times. The dearth of natural climbing sites in Singapore makes wall climbing the prevalent sport there. The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is open to public for climbing but they don't allow inexperienced climbers.
